Responsible for all assembly/welding operations. Supervises all personnel within these departments. Instills the culture of visual material flow and standard work. Maintains the required safety stock buffers to ensure 100% on-time delivery (OTD). Responsibilities

Directs all work in their assigned departments in accordance with specifications established by the engineering division. Utilizes the machines, materials, services, reports and recommendations provided by various staff functions to control both detailed operations and overall performance in the department. Examples include:

Using the production schedules and daily status reports furnished by Production Control to control production and prevent delinquencies. Approving and applying promptly all-time standards by Manufacturing Engineering and ensuring they are properly administered and used; staying current with method changes and reporting them promptly to Manufacturing Engineering. Using variance reports from Data Processing to guide corrective actions to keep costs in line with the budget.

Makes every effort to overcome obstacles (e.g., material shortages, machine or tooling breakdowns) that may interfere with meeting schedules or maintaining quality; seeks assistance from Superintendent or other departments when needed. Trains and assists workers to:

Maintain product quality in accordance with specifications Keep scrap at the lowest practicable level Maintain high productivity without lowering quality Maintain smooth flow of work within the department and into dependent departments Control costs to meet the budget Work safely Maintain good housekeeping

Carries out special projects in the department, such as employee-suggested improvements or method proposals from leadership and others. Consults with Human Resources regarding grievances. Assumes full responsibility for the quality of parts leaving the department and for the accuracy of all production counts; may delegate but remains responsible. Maintains records as prescribed and keeps the Superintendent informed; reports as requested. Provides supervisory direction to all assigned personnel, selects personnel, conducts performance reviews, administers discipline, and makes recommendations regarding compensation, promotion, demotion and termination. Conducts regular department inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety; arranges for proper maintenance and orderly operation of equipment and work area. Performs personnel functions such as hiring, status changes, or termination of hourly employees; observes qualifications for Foreman; assists in administering labor agreements and company policies. Follows all Senior policies and procedures; performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor\'s degree is highly desirable. 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing is preferred. Experience managing 25+ employees. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience transforming culture in large assembly operations. Career progression with progressively more responsible roles within production operations. Lean / Continuous Improvement trained. Experience with metrics-based business analysis. Required Skills: Language:

English reading/writing; ability to analyze and interpret technical documents and communicate effectively. Reasoning Ability:

Solve practical problems; interpret instructions, drawings, and production techniques; understand metal properties. Mathematical Skills:

Perform shop mathematics and solve production problems using basic algebra and geometry. Other Abilities:

Knowledge of MAPICS or similar manufacturing software; MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; lean manufacturing experience; supervisory capability; self-starter with problem-solving skills. Additional Information

Annual Target Salary:
