Many of our projects are state and federally funded, meaning you’ll receive
full prevailing wage rates
(well above standard shop pay) when working on these jobs.
What You’ll Do As an Ironworker, you’ll be responsible for the safe and accurate assembly and erection of structural steel. You’ll work hands-on with skilled teams to create the framework for buildings, infrastructure, and iconic community structures.
Core Responsibilities
Erect and install structural steel beams, columns, joists, bracing, and decking per blueprints and specs
Rig, guide, and connect steel members using cranes, taglines, and appropriate lifting tools
Weld steel in flat, vertical, and overhead positions per project requirements
Install stairs, rails, platforms, and other miscellaneous metals
Use hand and power tools for cutting, drilling, and bolting
Communicate clearly with crane operators and team members via radio and hand signals
Assist in demolition and shoring when needed
Follow all
OSHA
and company safety protocols
Work year-round in both indoor and outdoor environments, including at heights
Requirements
High school diploma or GED, plus related experience/training.
3+ years of ironworking or structural steel erection experience
Ability to read blueprints and layout steel from drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use rigging, hand tools, and welding equipment
Welding (AWS) and rigging certifications are a plus
Valid
Driver’s License
and reliable transportation
Able to work safely at heights and in changing weather conditions
Regular attendance is required
Physical Requirements
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Must possess adequate sight, hearing and use of limbs for all aspects of job
Able to work for periods of time while kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing steps as well as the ability to work from a ladder
Must have the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds up to 50% of the day
Must have the physical ability to carry hand tools and items weighing up to 20 pounds up to 95% of the day
Must have the physical ability to bend and stoop under obstacles as low as 3 feet up to 50% of the day
Must have the physical ability to climb over obstacles 2’ high up to up to 50% of the day
Must be able to stand and/or walk from location to location up to 95% of the day
Outdoor and indoor environments, with exposure to hot and cold temperatures
Required PPE: steel-toed, slip-resistant boots, hard hat, gloves, and eye protection
