We are seeking a motivated
Engineering Associate
with an
E.I.T. certification
and a passion for
water and wastewater infrastructure
to join our growing team in Hickory, NC. This role focuses on the
design and development of water and wastewater treatment plant projects , providing a strong foundation for a long-term career in civil and environmental engineering. Key Responsibilities Perform engineering design work, layout, and modeling for municipal
water/wastewater projects . Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, and supporting documentation. Assist in permit applications, project reports, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs. Conduct basic engineering computations and CAD drafting using
AutoCAD Civil 3D . Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to support construction schedules and environmental impact studies. Attend client meetings and perform site visits to monitor construction progress and project milestones. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree
in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of relevant experience
(including internships, co-ops, or research), preferably in
water/wastewater projects . Proficiency in
AutoCAD Civil 3D
is essential. Experience with
ArcGIS
is a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to work on multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Experience Hands-on involvement in the design or permitting of
water or wastewater treatment plants . Familiarity with local and state permitting processes. Exposure to preparing construction documentation and environmental assessments.
