Responsibilities (Essential Job Duties)

Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly while maintaining each resident’s self-respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality

Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care is being given to residents

Assist residents in their daily living activities including bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, activities, and bowel/bladder functions

Provide assistance at mealtime with selecting meals, serving, eating, and clearing

Transport residents as necessary, assisting them into and out of bed or wheelchairs, and escort to meals or activities

Perform regular safety checks on residents

Encourage residents to participate in daily activities such as bed making, laundry, cleaning, and setting tables

Invite, encourage, assist and lead residents in meaningful and life-enriching activities

Clean, complete laundry, and assist with other community activities and duties as required

Manage oxygen tanks and concentrators per physician orders

Chart and document appropriate information and communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor

Respond promptly to all resident alerts and assist with emergencies or requests

Ensure resident safety and comfort and participate in safety drills

Non-Essential Job Duties

Display a positive and professional image through actions and dress in line with MBK values

Encourage teamwork through open communication with coworkers and other departments

Demonstrate effective time management to complete assignments daily per shift

Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, and guests

Adhere to MBK policies regarding meal breaks and rest periods

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Health Services and/or other leadership

Requirements

Age 18 or over, or have proper work permit and authorization

High school diploma or equivalent

Nurses Aide certification preferred

Current first aid certification

Background clearances as required by government regulations

Health screening and negative TB test within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment

Prior caregiving experience preferred; on-the-job training available

Must be able to read and speak English

Ability to follow oral and written directions

Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds

Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements

Physical Demands

Must be mobile and able to perform the physical demands of caregiving, including kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching, and bending

Must be able to lift 40+ pounds and push 150 pounds unassisted

Pay: $18.50 - $20.50/hr
