Overview
Maintenance Shop Diesel Mechanic A role at Republic Services. Direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. Performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including chassis components; refuse bodies (control, hydraulic, and electrical systems); air brake systems; general engine work; HVAC components; suspension, drive train and steering systems. Be part of a team maintaining a single fleet with state-of-the-art equipment to support drivers on their routes. Responsibilities
Maintain advanced knowledge of and perform complex repair/maintenance on vehicle components and systems, on-site and on the road. Repair and maintenance of chassis components. Work on refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems. Repair and maintain engines, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems. Maintain heating and air conditioning systems. Perform line welding and fabrication; identify malfunctions using electronic tools. Complete applicable Company training programs. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks. Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some of the following systems: suspensions & steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions. ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required. LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required. Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
