Job Title: Senior Embedded Systems Design Engineer

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Overview Boeing Responsive Space Capability is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer with experience in integration of embedded systems including software, firmware and electronics. This position will join a multi-disciplined engineering team to design, integrate, and test Advanced Concepts for the DoD. Systems being developed include electro‑optical control systems, pointing and tracking controls, high speed, low latency DSP systems, and others as defined in the scope of work. The role will define, develop, integrate, test, and troubleshoot software and firmware to support system and subsystem requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop overall embedded systems architecture

Support firmware and software research development projects.

Work in a team environment to develop specifications of firmware and software architectures.

Research required algorithms and implementation approach.

Design and validate implementation of all firmware components.

Integrate and synthesize firmware for the target platform.

Develop and maintain software code. Integrate software into a fully functional software system.

Troubleshoot basic firmware and software issues.

Develop test procedures and document test results to ensure embedded system requirements are met.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

3+ years of experience programming in C, C++ or C#.

Experience with product management and software development methodology.

Experience in software architecture and software development.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience working with FPGA embedded systems.

Experience with FPGA processor or memory interconnects.

Experience in embedded software development.

Hardware integration and software integration experience.

Experience using programming languages (VHDL, C++, Java, MATLAB).

Experience developing code for sensor acquisition and sensor processing.

Experience with electro‑optical systems (EO systems, electro optics).

Prior experience as a project lead.

Benefits and Compensation Pay range: $118,150 - $159,850

Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Additional Information Security Clearance: Requires an active U.S. Top Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required); a clearance that was active within the past 24 months is considered active.
