Construction Project Manager Job Description

The Construction Project Manager plans, organizes, implements, and completes Capital construction projects in accordance with Owner requirements. The role involves coordinating the work of multiple entities, including internal and external customers, architects, and engineers. Implementation of the Design Package includes collaboration with Purchasing and Finance to fund and bid the work. The Project Manager executes the Scope of Work by working closely with Code officials, contractors, inspectors, end users, and intra-agency entities (Security, IT, etc.). The position is responsible for the project's overall success, measured by adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and end-user satisfaction. Qualifications and Requirements

Licensure/Certification:

None required for hire; HCC or CHC preferred. CHC required within two years of employment. Experience:

Minimum of 7 years in healthcare and/or institutional construction, including large, complex, and fast-track projects with special funding arrangements. Knowledge:

Principles of architecture, engineering, cost management, design, construction, and project management. Skills:

Excellent communication, leadership, and judgment skills to guide project teams through all phases from programming to closeout. Independence:

Ability to operate independently, representing the Owner effectively. Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications (AIA, PE, CMAA, etc.). Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or related field. Additional Requirements

Must monitor budgets, schedules, and scope creep. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing General Contractors and ensuring project adherence to schedule and budget. Availability to work nights and weekends as needed. Physical and Mental Requirements

Physical lifting of 20-50 lbs., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motions. Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, reading, and logical thinking. Work Environment
