Field Service Technician
Our client is currently seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to join their team in Des Moines, IA. This role involves providing onsite technical support, performing hardware installations, and maintaining IT systems. Transportation is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates who enjoy working in the field without the need to use their personal vehicle.
Duties And Responsibilities
Perform onsite IT support for client retail stores, including troubleshooting desktops, laptops, POS systems, printers, and peripherals
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components
Conduct hardware refreshes, imaging, and software deployments
Provide basic network connectivity support, including switch and cabling work
Collaborate with remote support teams to resolve escalated issues quickly and efficiently
Document all activities in the company ticketing system and communicate updates with management
Maintain a professional demeanor while working directly with store associates and leadership
Skills And Qualifications
Minimum 1 to 3+ years of IT field service, desktop support, or hardware repair experience
Familiarity with Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365
Experience using imaging tools such as SCCM or MDT
Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs of equipment
Prior retail IT support or POS system experience preferred
Basic networking knowledge (IP configuration, switches, routers) preferred
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
Wage Range The rate for this position is between
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour . Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
