Direct message the job poster from AIM World Services Operating Location: Cooperative Security Location, Kismayo, Somalia, Africa Summary Our client needs a Journeyman, a skilled and licensed Electrician, with verifiable minimum experience. The successful Candidate must hold an accepted US State issued Electrician’s Journeyman license. This opportunity operates independently, and the incumbent should require minimal supervision. Duties & Responsibilities Installs, tests and repairs grounding systems in accordance with accepted codes, standards and manufacturer’s recommendations. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials. Provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender. Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by electrician helper. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps per accepted codes and standards. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools. Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools. Connects power cables and ground leads to equipment and other electrical utilization equipment such as motors, HVAC units, etc. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation or replacement. May repair faulty equipment or systems. May provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS). May connect pier electrical systems at seaport. Performs duties in accordance with: US Army Regulation 710-2 – Inventory Management Supply Policy Directs implementation of the Command Supply Discipline Program and prompt command corrective actions when evaluations highlight problems with compliance. US Army Regulation 735-5 – Property Accountability Policies Provides basic policies for accounting for Army property and accounting for lost, damaged, or destroyed Army property. Current Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services (DLADS) disposal guidelines Excess Property Screening Reutilization, Transfer, and Donation (RTD) process Demilitarization Hazardous property and waste Final disposal Outlines policies and procedures and assigns responsibilities for conducting the United States Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, and FLW Fire Protection and Prevention Program. US Army Regulation 190-11 - Physical Security of AA&E Provides detailed guidelines and requirements for the secure storage of firearms. This is critical to reducing the risk of accidents, theft, and unauthorized use. Department of Defense Unified Facilities Code (UFC) A system of mandatory technical criteria for the planning, design, construction, and modernization of all DoD facilities. The Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG) serves as the primary distribution platform for these documents, which are administered by the Army Corps of Engineers in Somalia. Experience & Qualifications High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of four (4) years related experience Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned Journeyman functions.
