This internship offers the qualified candidate an opportunity to participate in a training program designed to potentially lead to a full-time role similar to the one described below. DoD Skillbridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Associated Milk Producers, Inc., as they continue to receive military pay and benefits as active-duty service members. AMPI owns seven manufacturing plants in the Midwest, producing 10% of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter. The cooperative's award-winning dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail, and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched the Dinner Bell Creamery brand and the Co-op Crafted promise, emphasizing over 50 years of partnership with dairy farm families and skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed by management. Report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to management. Maintain heightened food safety and quality responsibilities. Manage, mentor, and support production staff and operations. Collaborate with maintenance to identify equipment issues, prioritize daily operations, improve machine efficiency, and oversee work completion. Coordinate production goals with plant personnel to meet daily and monthly targets. Ensure timely setup of processing equipment to meet productivity expectations. Develop and implement training procedures to enhance job knowledge and cross-training. Provide daily updates to department managers. Build strong relationships with plant personnel, demonstrating leadership, effective communication, and policy enforcement. Understand and address software control system performance and training. Promote a safety culture focused on zero injuries and motivate adherence to safety policies. Participate in annual reviews of Food Safety and Quality systems. Identify and resolve problems promptly through information analysis and group problem-solving. Foster a positive team environment, boosting morale and commitment to goals. Manage projects by planning, communicating changes, and building team commitment. Create realistic action plans, prioritize activities, and allocate resources. Involve team members in planning and decision-making, provide performance feedback, and support skill development. React well under pressure, treat others respectfully, and accept responsibility. Lead and enforce all Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and Safety policies, reporting nonconformities. Maintain strong customer relationships, investigate complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. The individual must be able to perform these duties successfully.
