Electrical Estimator
Electrical Estimator
with at least 5 years of experience on commercial construction projects. Estimators will work primarily on negotiated electrical commercial projects in our core markets: healthcare, higher education, advanced technology, life sciences, and commercial. They will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to drive project success and support our mission.
Responsibilities
Handle the project from first estimate through project handoff.
Provide complete project cost evaluations, asking the right questions and ensuring accuracy.
Collate and present detailed conceptual cost estimates and cost studies from schematic through feasibility levels.
Prepare detailed estimates, update as design evolves, and develop variance summaries and value engineering studies.
Create comprehensive bid packages, including instructions to bidders, trade clarifications, and bid tally sheets.
Participate in the bidding process: solicit bids, evaluate subcontractor proposals, negotiate and finalize subcontracts.
Present cost and budget information to customers/owners and recommend subcontractor awards.
Engage in RFP responses and formally present projects.
Develop new and existing customer relationships and lead value engineering sessions with project teams.
Required Skills & Abilities
Flexible, detail-oriented team player managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative and innovative problem solving on a project-by-project basis.
Effective teamwork with both internal teammates and external stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, estimating software (WinEst, Timberline, or similar), take-off software (Accubid Livecount or similar), BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.), project management software (CMiC or similar), or scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
Education & Experience
5+ years experience as an Estimator in Electrical Commercial Construction, preferably within DPR core markets.
Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.
Field experience is a plus but not required.
Experience with Design/Build and Design/Assist projects is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Travel to and from the office and assigned job site(s).
