Position Overview The Factory Commissioning Test Technician is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and performing repairs on next-generation light rail vehicles, locomotives, and coaches. Based in Sacramento, this role requires hands-on expertise with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards. The technician plays a key role in validating system functionality and supporting the delivery of high-quality rolling stock to customers.
What your day-to-day will look like
Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars
Troubleshoot, document, and repair electrical and mechanical failures
Work with state-of-the-art dialogistic test equipment
Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards
Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information
Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds
Read, interpret, and understand written or electronic schematics
Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles
To thrive in this role, you have
High school diploma (or GED)
3+ years’ experience in electrical testing
Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, mechanical troubleshooting
Candidates should be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable.
