Ironworker Journeyman - Various Locations at Yates Construction. This role requires heavy industrial experience as an Ironworker with skills in safe structural component assembly and maintenance including welding, fabrication, and stress relieving. The candidate should be experienced in rigging, lifting and moving equipment, oxyfuel cutting, identifying and installing iron and supports, and reading structural drawings and detail sheets. Responsibilities

Careful initial planning of the job to be carried out, reading and following erection drawings/plans. Set up hoisting equipment and raise/place structural steel members with basic rigging knowledge. Fasten steel members to hoist cables; signal hoisting equipment operators; guide members into position using taglines. Position steel members using hand tools, pries, and straightening devices; align holes and bolts; verify vertical and horizontal alignment. Bolting and welding of aligned members; cut and weld as needed with oxyacetylene equipment. Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment; assist in lifting and positioning as required. Operate cranes and other access equipment; follow crane signals; use MEWP, ladders, and lifts as the structure rises. Lay metal decking and install safety railing as the structure is built. Demonstrate Yates Core Values and Principles; follow Yates Code of Conduct; adhere to safety responsibilities and expectations. Refuse unsafe work and follow all Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices; report incidents and hazards; wear PPE; participate in safety inspections and trainings. Provide suggestions to improve Safety and present a mature approach to working safely; attend prestart and safety meetings and contribute. Other related duties as needed by Field Supervision; this list is not exhaustive. Qualifications

Level III Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related ironwork experience NCCER Ironworker journeyman certification Level II Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related ironwork experience NCCER “Performance” Ironworker journeyman verification Other verified experiences or certifications with ironworker experience Level I Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related ironwork experience Requirements Read ISOs, Blueprints, P&IDs, and Shop Drawings; read and interpret instructions and documentation Personal hand tools required per Yates Industrial Minimum Tool List Successful completion of required safety training (e.g., Confined Space, LOTO, Working at Heights) Physical Demands / Essential Job Functions This job description reflects essential functions and is not all-inclusive.
