Who we are looking for The Lead Embedded Software Engineer - VCU will lead vehicle software development, ensuring adherence to software plans and execution. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality software milestones for the company. What you get to do The candidate will develop vehicle control unit software requirements and oversee the development, sourcing, and engineering of these solutions. Develop software component and sub-component requirements for the VCU application. Collaborate with third-party software providers, IC manufacturers, and software vendors during Proto/DV/PV phases to analyze and create software requirements for purchased components and standardize production ECUs. Design and develop embedded software modules using model-based design tools and embedded C/C++ programming for vehicle architecture components. Support the software architect in establishing and tracing requirements within the overall product software architecture and vehicle interface requirements. Develop AUTOSAR-based software components, configurations, ECU services, and interface layers for application and integration with base software. Work with internal and external stakeholders on requirements, design, and test development. Ensure software work products comply with ISO-26262 and ASPICE standards. Create, maintain, and develop software deliverables following coding standards and MISRA guidelines. Collaborate in a cross-functional environment to meet stakeholder and vehicle domain requirements within project timelines. Test, integrate, and verify software components to meet functional safety standards. Support HIL/system validation teams to meet quality standards using debugging and instrumentation tools. What you bring to the team Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science. At least 5 years of experience in automotive software development with embedded C/C++ and/or model-based design, compliant with ASPICE standards. At least 2 years of experience with software development lifecycle work products, including requirements, in line with functional safety and AUTOSAR guidelines. At least 2 years of experience in software testing and debugging with standardized tools for functional safety and AUTOSAR conformance. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science. Experience with vehicle serial communication protocols such as CAN/CAN-FD, SPI, and LIN. Experience in diagnostics and device control algorithms development. Proficiency with debuggers and tools like ETAS-INCA, CANape, or CANoe/CANalyzer. Knowledge of memory management techniques and software design for production ECUs. Experience with multi-core, pre-emptive RTOS, and AUTOSAR environment configurations. Extensive experience with requirements, change, and configuration management tools like Polarion, JIRA, Bitbucket, IBM-RTC.
