Overview
Job Title: Multi-Craft Millwright Foreman Location: Cleveland, TN Company: Cherokee Millwright, Inc. Role focus: Multi-craft company providing multi-trades personnel to meet customer needs. The position involves hands-on work with oversight of installation, dismantling, or movement of machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, rigging plans, blueprints, or other drawings. The role supports cross-training in millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, and related trades. Responsibilities
Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on priority, equipment quantity, and personnel skill. Monitor employees' work levels and review performance. Manage tool and part inventories and ensure the job site conditions support safe and effective work. Inspect objects, systems, or facilities to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. Report accidents, near misses, and injuries to supervision and cooperate with investigations. Compile operational and personnel data (time worked, jobs, inventory, equipment used, maintenance information). Report concerns to office supervision and mentor employees to address job-skill deficiencies. Conduct on-the-job training or arrange safety or equipment training as needed. Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Dismantle machines; move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, airbags, and forklifts. Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails; construct machine foundations and set clearances. Align machines using hoists, jacks, hand tools, measuring instruments, and plumb bobs. Assemble, bolt, weld, rivet, or fasten machines to foundations or structures; perform repairs and lubrication of equipment. Use various hand tools, power tools, torches, and welders; operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Develop additional cross-discipline skills as required to meet customer needs. Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversees daily work assignments for a crew of one to twelve employees. Reports performance to office supervision and participates in training, planning, directing, and resolving issues as per company policies and applicable laws. Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED; or four to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands
Regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk and hear. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations available. Work Environment
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Occasional exposure to high places, fumes or particles, extreme heat, electrical shock risk, and vibration. Noise level usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations available. Other Duties
