The Impact You Can Have: The Transportation Analyst II supports Ulta Beauty’s transportation operations by driving high on-time delivery performance to retail locations. This role serves as a key point for daily shipment issues and collaborates closely with distribution centers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams to maintain service continuity. The analyst will analyze performance data, identify process improvement opportunities, and contribute to network optimization efforts that support cost, service, and operational efficiency goals. This position reports to the Transportation Manager. Work Schedule:

This position operates on a four-day, 10-hour schedule; Sunday through Wednesday 9am – 7pm CST. You’ll Accomplish These Goals By

Oversee daily outbound transportation operations from distribution centers to Ulta Beauty retail stores, ensuring on-time, accurate execution. Monitor carrier performance against SLAs using the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other tools; investigate and resolve service failures. Lead the creation and management of outbound ship schedules in alignment with DCs, Supply Chain Operations (SCO), and S&OP teams. Communicate daily with carriers, DC teams, and internal partners to resolve delivery issues and maintain service continuity. Identify cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities within the transportation network while maintaining service standards. Build and maintain strong carrier relationships, enforcing accountability through regular communication and performance tracking. Support weekly and monthly carrier scorecard reviews and participate in service recovery and performance improvement discussions. Assist with outbound delivery planning, including seasonal events, promotional activities, and high-volume periods. Generate and analyze TMS, Power BI, Tableau, and ad hoc reports and dashboards. Collaborate with cross-functional partners on initiatives affecting store delivery. Audit weekly ship schedules to ensure all retail stores are accurately included and aligned with delivery requirements. Conduct diagnostic analytics across linehaul, final mile, and direct-to-store delivery to identify performance drivers, root causes of delays, and cost-impacting inefficiencies. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance visibility, reduce cost, improve product movement and strengthen communication. Analyze carrier footprint, contracted and flex capacity, and on-time delivery execution to uncover correlations that support strategic transportation decisions. Maintain documentation for transportation processes, SOPs, and issue resolution standards. Provide coverage and support for team members during high-volume periods or absences. Contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and shared success. Stay informed on system updates, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing training and development. The Essentials for Success

4-5 years of domestic transportation experience with direct, intermediate to advanced hands-on skill with E2Open or other TMS systems. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with strong self-motivation and accountability. Advanced analytical capability with experience using ERP systems (preferably SAP) and BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI to identify trends, root causes, and performance gaps. Strong understanding of North American transportation operations, carrier performance management, and regulatory requirements. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data querying and predictive analysis to support data-driven decisions. Demonstrated success building and managing carrier and vendor relationships with measurable service improvement outcomes. Strong collaborator with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across multiple teams and organizational levels. Organized and adaptable, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal oversight. Retail or distribution industry experience preferred. Experienced in leading projects and managing multiple priorities with strong time management. Availability to support operations as needed. Pay and Benefits : The pay range for this position is $66,200.00 - $88,100.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
