Based in Salinas—California’s produce capital—you’ll play a vital role in driving growth and ensuring perishable products move efficiently from farm to destination. Location: Salinas, CA Salary: $95,000.00-$115,000.00 What You’ll Be Doing
Identifying and developing new business opportunities in the fresh produce and perishable freight sector Building trust-based relationships with growers, shippers, and supply chain partners Conducting outreach through calls, emails, and in-person visits to build your book of business Offering tailored transportation solutions based on produce seasonality and freight needs Responding to customer inquiries and RFPs with accuracy and urgency Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth quoting, booking, and delivery Proactively tracking shipments and maintaining clear communication with customers Logging activity in CRM systems, managing a clean pipeline, and supporting a seamless handoff to operations Meeting or exceeding sales goals and outreach targets Staying current on industry and market trends, especially seasonal shifts affecting fresh freight What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or account management (preferably produce freight) Strong understanding of refrigerated and time-sensitive shipments Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills Strong organizational abilities and multitasking under tight deadlines Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and logistics platforms (TMS experience is a plus) Independent, self-motivated, and comfortable working on the road Why This Role
