Overview

The Technical Engineering Data Analyst is responsible for mining, analyzing, and organizing engineering data across multiple technical disciplines—including mechanical, electrical, structural, software, and other related areas. This role ensures that engineering parts and assemblies within company databases are accurately named, translated, classified, documented, and aligned with the appropriate features, classes, and standardized terminologies. The analyst will collaborate with government agencies, cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, and Quality to improve data integrity, consistency, and usability, supporting both operational efficiency and governmental requirements. Responsibilities

Apply technical knowledge to identify terminologies, classes, part features and attributes across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, software, etc.). Collect, analyze, and classify engineering data from multiple sources (databases, PLM/ERP systems, drawings, specifications, etc.). Develop and maintain standard terminologies and naming conventions for parts and assemblies. Provide subject matter expertise on part classification and trade compliance impacts. Define and apply governmental tracking codes to parts and assemblies in accordance with international trade regulations. Develop and maintain processes for data governance, cleansing, and validation. Ensure compliance with established engineering standards, policies, and best practices. Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, duplications, and gaps within databases. Support process improvement initiatives related to data management, digital thread, and product lifecycle management (PLM). Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT departments to ensure consistent data handling and alignment with business processes. Interact with government agencies and regulatory bodies to clarify and verify classification rulings, tariffs, and export control requirements. Prepare reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders. Assist with system testing, data validation, and implementation of enhancements in PLM/ERP or related systems. Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Industrial) or a related technical discipline with minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, data analysis, or technical data management roles; or Associate’s degree (A.S.) in a related field and minimum of 6 years’ experience in engineering, data analysis, or technical data management roles; or equivalent experience may be considered. Skills in planning, managing, and directing resources and projects and in reporting project status to a cross-functional audience using project planning software. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers. Ability to perform root cause analysis of established processes. Ability to guide and lead personnel with short-term projects. Ability to initialize and execute projects without prior subject experience and with minimal guidance. Abilities and patience to overcome technical or administrative adversity. Ability to present information in a professional manner. Skills and knowledge to negotiate or find consensus within a group with diverse opinions. Excellent presentation skills. Ability and willingness to make decisions of consequence. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information clearly. Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient skills in data analysis and database querying tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI, or similar). Our Offer
