Position Overview The Dispatcher reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for problem-solving and delivering high-quality customer service across our nationwide operations. While transportation experience is not mandatory, a desire to succeed is essential. The role involves handling a high volume of calls, communicating with drivers, responding to emails, and resolving issues throughout the day.
Responsibilities
Direct and monitor daily assignments; schedule drivers and assign vehicles to ensure route coverage.
Ensure all driver activities are completed on time.
Communicate driving assignments clearly to drivers.
Assist drivers with routing and special services as needed.
Recommend disciplinary actions for staff violations.
Respond to emergencies, coordinate repairs, and manage route disruptions.
Notify stakeholders of route changes, emergencies, or incidents.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to routes, vehicles, and drivers.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance to ensure continuous service.
Adhere to dispatch procedures and handle customer concerns professionally.
Escalate unresolved issues to management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Physical Demands
Organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
Communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
Read and interpret documents and maps.
Operate radio systems and use software tools.
Work independently and under pressure.
Maintain organized records.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
2 years of experience in dispatch, call center, customer service, hospitality, or related fields.
