The Weitz Company is hiring a Supply Chain Analyst who specializes in commercial furniture to be located out of our Des Moines, IA office.

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for managing tactical procurement support functions and specific assigned tasks in the office and construction project site(s). This role actively collaborates with suppliers and project teams to monitor quality assurance and delivery status. The Supply Chain Analyst typically reports to the Category Manager and may supervise other personnel. Travel is required to job site installations.
The position will support various projects nationwide, however, it is an in-office role that is located in Des Moines, Iowa.
What You’ll Do:
Create project procurement plans to support Supply Chain activities for construction projects
Prepare RFI/RFP packages, evaluate proposals and responses, perform commercial analysis and propose vendor/supplier recommendations
Perform document management and project administration duties
Complete tactical procurement activities (i.e. PO entry, shipment tracking, and invoice approval)
Represent Supply Chain during project specification and development phases of assigned construction project(s)
Implement strategic sourcing principles of consolidation; standardize and substitute to reduce project total costs, project schedule, and improve delivered value
Confirm contracts and insurances are intact prior to scope execution
Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers
Assess supplier capabilities; analyze and track performance; create reports to ensure contract compliance
Present metrics, project status and research to internal teams
Travel to business units or project sites as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For: Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of procurement management, builder’s supply company, or building products manufacturer experience is preferred.
LEAN principles experience and ability to apply principles is desirable.
2+ years of Furniture experience
Interior Design and/or Space Planning experience
Ability to read floor plans and do take offs.
Skills:
Negotiation skills
Relationship building
Knowledge and/or exposure to quality assurance
Effective communication, judgment, initiative, time management, attention to detail, flexibility, problem solving, multi-tasking
Ability to maintain a pleasant and positive attitude, even in difficult situations.
Technology:
Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Employee should have the ability to learn other specific software (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
