Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screen.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform daily inspections and submit reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with contract, design documents, plans and specifications in regard to workmanship, materials, installation and construction methods.
Provide recommendations or necessary changes to government personnel regarding contract plans and specification relative to all phases of construction.
Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process.
Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
Deliver and review change orders; modification; RFIs; and submittals.
Monitor contractor’s schedule.
Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment.
Verify accuracy of as-built drawings.
Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor.
Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).
Education & Experience
High School Diploma/GED minimum; construction related degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years of applicable experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal projects; Department of Defense preferred.
Experience with a wide range of trades including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction.
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) preferred.
Experience using RMS 3.0 preferred.
Experience with three-phase inspection process.
Experience with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual preferred.
Proficiency and effective communication skills in English; oral and written.
Knowledge of building and construction crafts; ability to read contract drawings and specifications.
Professional presentation and strong communication skills; attention to detail.
Valid driver's license and insurable.
Physical Requirements
Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
Ability to carry required instruments and equipment.
Lift 50 pounds.
Meet ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards; maintain productivity standards.
Work in variable climates, including extreme cold and heat.
