This role bridges technical expertise with procurement strategy.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
As a Strategic Sourcing Engineer, you’ll collaborate with category managers and project teams to ensure sourcing decisions align with technical requirements, quality standards, and business goals. You’ll be at the forefront of supplier strategy and negotiations —bringing your engineering mindset into the world of strategic procurement. Works closely with category managers of respective category and project procurement managers implementing the category strategy and linking it into the business Adapts and implements catalogues and framework contracts on Divisional/ regional level in compliance with guidelines Runs negotiations, manages RFQs, negotiations, awarding decisions and follow-up with suppliers, takes awarding decisions in line with category strategy Executes supplier selection along strategy, requirements, supplier base development, and identification of new suppliers Direct involvement in and solving of issues with suppliers (e.g., quality, delivery and service issues), etc. Monitors and communicates performance of suppliers Strives for automation and digitalization practices and tool improvement Ensures cost, availability, innovation, and quality within the sourcing plan creation and execution Ensures compliance with procurement process, policies and other statutory requirements within category Accountable for achieving agreed KPIs and their reporting Experience preferred in beverage industry construction and field installation projects: quotation, competitive bidding and procurement Your profile and qualifications:
Expertise in the design and fabrication of stainless steel equipment for the food and personal care industries. Experience intank design, project execution, quality management, or field operations. Experience in procurement processes Know-how of international contract management Cost analysis and management Experience with implementation of corporate procurement Work experience in complex organizations Systems, Ariba, S2P, SAP 10+ years of experience in procurement processes Profound background international contract management Solid cost analysis and management experience Inter-Cultural Sensitivity Experience with implementation of corporate procurement GEA is an equal opportunity employer.
