Position Overview As a Warehouse Operations Supervisor, you will lead a team of Warehouse Technicians that support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high‑energy warehouse environment providing all material to production departments for manufacturing the best rail vehicles in the world. This role focuses on managing the receiving, putaway, picking, kitting, or delivery of material to production. Additionally, the role may focus on the interaction with the MRP system for accurately tracking the material movements. This role will lead a team of up to 25 Warehouse Technicians.
What your day‑to‑day will look like:
Leading a team of Warehouse Technicians to support the receiving, putaway, picking, kitting, or delivery of material to production
Promote a safe environment and meet safety requirements complying with company policies and regulations
Ensure all employees are adequately trained and are competent to perform their assigned tasks.
Identify and implement improvements in overall workflow and standard work practices.
Ensure transactional accuracy for all material movements – i.e. ensure the correct quantity of material is moved to the specified location, and MRP system transactions are completed correctly.
Maintain department KPIs along with benchmarks and targets to provide a clear indication of department performance, trends, and potential problem areas.
Conduct employee performance reviews and provide meaningful feedback for employee development.
To thrive in this role, you have:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
3+ years previous experience in leading/managing employees in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
Familiarity with ERP systems and transactions, specifically SAP
Proficient in MS Office suite.
Self‑starter needed with the ability to manage multiple priorities across projects with competing deadlines with high level of independence and minimal supervision.
Ability to drive accountability and results.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Able to collaborate and work effectively with others, as well as independently.
Ability to make sound business and production decisions when faced with a degree of ambiguity and complexity.
