Under general supervision, the Residence Program Specialist is responsible for the care and development of the people we support in one of the Agency’s residential facilities. They interact in a manner that fosters dignity and learning, leading to greater independence, and helps create a homelike atmosphere. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides care and assists with personal development and independence of the people we support. Ensures safety and well-being measures are maintained at the highest level. Provides training in activities of daily living, self-help, and social skills. Maintains a homelike environment in the residential facility. Attends staff meetings, in-service trainings, and prepares reports including Incident Reports and Progress Notes. Responds to emergencies, including medical crises, with quick and decisive action. Ensures actions prevent abuse and reports any suspicions according to procedures. Administers first aid and summons emergency services when needed. Utilizes crisis intervention strategies as per OPWDD guidelines when necessary. Provides transportation for the people supported to various destinations. Assists with meal planning, preparation, and purchasing. Implements behavioral programs and participates in interdisciplinary planning. Maintains logs of daily activities. Performs housekeeping, cooking, laundry, and maintenance duties to ensure safety and a homelike environment. Supervises activities as needed to maintain program quality. Dispenses medications after completing required training and in accordance with protocols. Supports personal hygiene routines and handles confidential documents securely. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements

Qualifications

Valid New York State Driver’s License in good standing Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required Six months of related experience preferred Salaried employees must be approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) within six months of hire if not already certified; training provided by ADAPT. Compensation

$19.06/hour (after probation) plus industry-leading benefits for full-time employees. Additional Information
