Transit Operations Supervisor (Grade 12) (1st Shift)
Be among the first 25 applicants. Nature of Work: The City of Huntsville’s Public Transit Department seeks a qualified applicant to fill the Transit Operations Supervisor position.
Responsibilities
Train, direct, coach, and assist bus operators, paratransit operators, and dispatchers to ensure safe, on-time, and customer-friendly fixed route bus service and special event transportation.
Make operational decisions and enforce the correct policies, procedures, and practices.
Serve as the first level of escalation for difficult customer issues.
Coordinate daily routes for assigned bus operators and assign vehicles to ensure adequate route coverage.
Qualifications
High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Public Transit Bus or Paratransit Operator, Public Transit Dispatcher, or successfully supervising 5+ Public Transit Bus Operators, Paratransit Operators, or equivalent supervisory experience.
Valid Class D Driver’s License upon hire and Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement within 6 months of hire or promotion date.
Public Transit Operations experience preferred.
