is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Assistant Project Manager
to manage all aspects of substation projects. This position assists the Project Manager and other senior team members in all phases of project execution, from estimating and planning through construction and closeout. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction management or electrical infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager, Superintendent or other management roles in the construction process throughout all phases of the life-cycle of a project to include estimating, negotiation, contracting, buyout, construction administration and closeout of individual projects and/or task or projects at large. Create, update and maintain a variety of project controls that track the status of: individual projects or task orders, changes to projects or task orders, RFI, shop drawings and submittal, matters involving quality controls, safety, financial performance, close-out and other aspects of the projects(s) or task order(s). Participate in subcontractor and vendor coordination, including issuance of purchase orders and monitoring of performance. Contribute to estimating efforts by conducting quantity takeoffs and preparing cost summaries. Maintain project tracking logs for schedule updates, change management, procurement status, and other key project metrics. Collaborate with safety and quality teams to support compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures. Support project closeout activities, including compiling documentation, punch lists, and turnover packages. Assist in the resolution of field issues, RFIs, and unforeseen challenges in collaboration with internal teams and subcontractors. Help enforce contractual and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Perform other job-related duties as requested by management. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Two (2) years of experience in project support roles within the construction or power infrastructure industry; experience with substations or electrical utility projects is a strong plus. Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing, particularly in electrical infrastructure. Familiarity with EPC project delivery models and lifecycle phases. Skills: Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); scheduling software experience (Primavera P6, MS Project) is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. A proactive approach to identifying problems and developing solutions. Comfortable working on-site in field construction environments as needed. OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification are a plus. Benefits
