Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr

If so, the Air Combat and Strike Analysis Group at the Applied Physics Lab is looking for you!

Our dedicated team of engineers, physicists, mathematicians, and computer scientists are engaged in a diverse portfolio of projects with the U.S. military. Our analysts support the acquisition, maintenance, and assessment of various military systems and technologies.

Responsibilities

Perform analysis on interacting sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems for multi-domain, mission-level simulations to discover insightful trends, inform conclusions, and support decision-making.

Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, assess risk, and document uncertainties in simulation results.

Collaborate with domain and technology experts, learning to integrate key effects into multi-domain simulation environments.

Work within small teams, mentoring junior analysts and guiding project directions with senior engineers.

Engage in independent research projects that foster creativity and initiative.

Present work through briefings to technical specialists and decision-makers.

Qualifications You will meet our minimum qualifications if you:

Hold a BS or MS in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.

Have demonstrated excellence in modeling, simulation, and analysis within Air, Space, Surface, or Ground warfare domains.

Are quick to learn new and challenging topics.

Can effectively collaborate and communicate complex ideas.

Proficient in MATLAB or Python.

Can obtain Interim Secret clearance and ultimately Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

You’ll exceed minimum qualifications if you:

Have a PhD in a relevant scientific or technical field.

Have experience integrating across warfare domains, especially Space.

Have leadership experience in team management and workflow.

Are familiar with M&S tools like AFSIM, STK, Suppressor, or Brawler.

Have experience with version control systems like Git/GitLab.

Possess an active Top Secret clearance.

The pay range is based on good faith estimates; actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other factors. We offer bonuses, relocation benefits, and a comprehensive benefits package. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Salary Range Minimum: $90,000 Annually

Maximum: $230,000 Annually
