Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President, Transportation, serves as the subject matter expert (SME) and strategic lead for all airport development and construction initiatives on airport property, that impact transportation and parking operations. This role ensures that the Transportation Business Unit (TBU) is fully integrated into all phases of airport infrastructure projects, from planning and design through execution, and oversees the development of required project documentation (i.e. CIP funding documents, official board actions, work authorizations etc). Plays a critical role in safeguarding the airport’s operational integrity and customer experience during periods of construction and development, by ensuring seamless coordination and communication between the TBU and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring that transportation-related concerns are proactively addressed and that projects align with airport-wide goals for growth, mobility, and service excellence. Job Overview

Plays a critical role in safeguarding the airport’s operational integrity and customer experience during periods of construction and development, by ensuring seamless coordination and communication between the TBU and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring that transportation-related concerns are proactively addressed and that projects align with airport-wide goals for growth, mobility, and service excellence.

What You Will Be Doing

Acts as the primary liaison between the TBU and internal departments, tenants, concessionaires, and external stakeholders, serving as the SME for all airport development and construction projects, ensuring transportation and parking considerations are embedded in cross-departmental planning, design reviews, implementation and construction execution. Reviews and analyzes construction plans, drawings, and design documents to identify and address potential operational impacts to ground transportation and parking services; provides recommendations to mitigate disruptions and ensure alignment with TBU objectives. Leads the construction moratorium program to minimize operational disruptions and customer impact during peak travel periods. Translates and interprets construction information, policies, programming, and designs into accessible, actionable communications for executive staff, internal audiences, and the public, relative to various projects and construction activities, including potential impacts to operations, affecting the TBU. Manages operating and capital project budgets, including forecasting and expenditures, aligned with departmental and airport-wide financial strategies and policies. Creates preparation of project-related documentation, including CIP funding requests, board actions, and work authorizations. Creates and overseas business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted operations during major construction activities to minimize impact to daily working operations and TBU functions. Maintains regular interaction with key programmatic managers, supervisors and coordinators to stay informed of developments and timelines. Prepares and delivers presentations, briefings, written communications and detailed reports that summarize project impacts, timelines, and mitigation strategies, tailored to diverse audiences including executive leadership and airport board members. In collaboration with Communications team, establishes a robust communication framework to ensure timely dissemination of information regarding construction schedules and operational impacts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Need

Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Transportation, Operations Management, Communications, Business or Public Administration, or a related field. Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in airport operations, operations center management, transportation planning, commercial construction, or related areas. Valid Class C driver's license. Knowledge of airport operations at a medium or large hub airport. Ability to interpret and communicate technical construction documents to diverse audiences. Proficient in business communication, budget management, and cross-functional coordination. Skilled in organizing, scheduling, and executing complex, multi-phase projects independently, accurately, and on time. Ability to manage competing priorities Ability to work collaboratively across teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders and tenants at all levels. Ability to identify problems, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement to mitigate and prevent recurrence.

What We Desire

Master’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Transportation, Operations Management, Communications, Business or Public Administration, or a related field. Formal Project Management qualifications or certificates.
