Position Description Thompson Turner seeks to hire an Assistant Project Manager located in the Low County. In this role, you will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time and budget parameters.

Job Responsibilities

Review project proposal or plans to determine schedule, budget limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of project.

Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arrange for recruitment or of project personnel or subcontractors.

Confere with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

Prepare status reports on project and make presentation no less than monthly to clients and corporate personnel as required.

Confere with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

Execute project as designed and submit change orders for any adjustments to the plan as necessary.

Oversee safety compliance and performance, ensuring immediate corrective actions as needed.

Participate in the evaluation of the Site Supervisors performance in their effectiveness in implementing and enforcing management values.

Ensure customer satisfaction with Thompson Turner services.

Monitor and guide on-site staff regarding reports, billings, financials, and personnel issues.

Act as liaison between on-site group and corporate headquarters.

Job Qualifications

3-5 years minimum experience building commercial general contracting projects.

Experience with civil, structural steel projects is extremely helpful.

Must have a 4-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent and experience.

Superior computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Self‑directed with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong math and analytical skills in regard to cost and pricing.

Ability to work effectively and meet project deadlines.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.

Previous work building industrial buildings a plus.

Willing to work overtime as required to meet deadlines.

Candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
