Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Area Construction Engineer, Senior Transportation Engineer (Civil), the incumbent reviews and analyzes the status of projects on the office of construction, gathers information and responds to inquiries regarding projects, tracks account usage and analyzes data for construction project expenditures. The analyst performs analysis, calculations, prepares contracts, monthly progress payment estimates for all the contracts assigned to the field office, analyzes actual usage reports and maintains related logs. The analyst reviews data & information and makes modifications, submittals, updates online programs, and supports project tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Area Construction Engineer.

Special Requirements

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state‑owned or leased vehicle.

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be submitted along with your state application. The SOQ is a discussion of how an applicant’s education and experience meet the evaluation criteria below and qualify them for the position. The SOQ must not exceed two (2) pages in length and written in no less than 12‑point font. Each evaluation criterion must be addressed separately and in order.

Evaluation Criteria

Experience in planning, organizing, and completing special assignments with emphasis on accuracy, quality, and details.

Experience with written, verbal, and personal communication with internal and external partners. Demonstrates effective and accurate reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrates knowledge of allocation, budget management, forecasting, analyzing, and auditing data.

Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. Ability to maintain files.
