Endpoint Optimization Manager

is responsible for the design, deployment, and optimization of the enterprise Microsoft Windows desktop environment and virtual desktop infrastructure. This role ensures that end-user computing devices and virtual desktops are provisioned, secured, and maintained for reliable and efficient user experiences. The IT Endpoint Optimization Manager manages a small team of Desktop Administrators, supports PC Technicians, and mentors junior administrators. This position also leads the architecture and ongoing optimization of a 450-user Omnissa Horizon environment. Responsibilities

Lead and mentor Desktop Administrators; support and coordinate with PC Technicians. Train junior administrators to build technical knowledge and experience. Architect, install, configure, and optimize a virtual desktop environment for ~450 users. Deploy and manage Omnissa Horizon solutions (Connection Servers, Security Access Gateways, Application Stacks, Dynamic Environment Manager). Manage Teradici and 10Zig endpoint devices with corresponding tools. Configure and troubleshoot VMware ESX Server hosts and virtualization infrastructure. Design, standardize, and maintain Windows desktop images and provisioning processes. Implement lifecycle strategies for patching, upgrades, and refresh cycles. Configure and support endpoint-related networking (PXE, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP). Maintain endpoint-related Active Directory and Group Policy configurations. Monitor desktop and VDI performance, proactively addressing issues and vulnerabilities. Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Provide Tier 2 support for escalated desktop and endpoint incidents. Collaborate with IT leadership on endpoint security, compliance, and productivity initiatives. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of enterprise desktop and virtualization experience. Prior experience supervising or mentoring IT staff preferred. Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate strongly preferred. VMware Horizon / Omnissa Horizon certification preferred. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred. CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking certification advantageous. Technical Skills

Expertise with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems. Strong knowledge of PXE, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP networking concepts. Experience with Windows OS provisioning tools such as Autopilot, Ivanti, and golden images. Advanced knowledge of Omnissa Horizon solutions including Connection Servers, Security Access Gateways, Application Stacks, and Dynamic Environment Manager. Experience managing Teradici and 10Zig endpoint devices. Knowledge of VMware ESX Server and virtualization platforms. Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint security. Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, MDT) desirable. Soft Skills

Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Clear communication with technical teams, end users, and management.
