Production Supervisor - Second Shift Brook + Whittle is seeking a Production Supervisor for the second shift to lead daily printing press production and continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing processes.

Shift Schedule

Monday: 4:55 pm – 1:30 am

Tuesday – Thursday: 2:55 pm – 1:30 am

Cover for Supervisor/Manager on vacation or time off as needed

Essential Functions

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all production processes.

Responsible for daily printing press production from printing up to packaging.

Empower operational staff to present ideas and create improvements and solutions.

Assess and identify operational improvement opportunities.

Completes Leader Standard Work (LSW) daily.

Audits and documents implementation of standardized work and other process improvements.

Works cross‑functionally to drive continuous improvement and foster a Lean culture.

Develop an understanding of lean manufacturing techniques to implement process improvements and optimal use of manufacturing resources.

Reviews key performance indicators (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) to ensure area is on track to meet overall departmental objectives. Require metrics be completed with notes explaining downtime and reasons if throughput goals are not achieved.

Leverage 5S principles to develop and maintain operational standards.

Facilitate and lead problem‑solving events.

Assist in investigating root cause analysis & corrective actions for department as needed.

Understands and supports all policies, procedures, instructions, rules, and regulations.

Will work directly with all operators to ensure jobs are run to customer’s critical quality requirements.

Represent operations during Project Review Meetings.

Will Lead with Safety, by identifying hazards and acting to mitigate injury risk at all times.

Reports machine & equipment breakdown to manager & maintenance personnel.

Consults with department manager and Quality Assurance of any quality related defects.

Responsible for reporting production to cross‑functional team through daily shift report.

Communicate personnel issues to HR and/or manager as needed.

Ensures all elements needed for upcoming jobs are present and accounted for to minimize downtime.

Minimize setup times through improved processes and staff utilization. Increase run speeds. Work closely with and support staff through both initiatives.

Works with quality department and other managers to ensure proper employee training is provided.

Works in cross‑functional teams to make sure processes are robust enough to meet customer requirements.

Skills

Printing background required.

Ability to be discreet with company confidential information, report errors, incidents, and problems to appropriate personnel.

Interpersonal skills to allow effective interaction with operators, cross‑functional departments, and leadership.

Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office (Proficient in Word and Excel) and understanding of the current data collection system.

Must be a team player.

Must be able to multi‑task.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Follow daily schedule to meet and exceed goals and requirements.

Make decisions systematically while minimizing downtime on all presses.

Keep presses running through all breaks/lunch.

Communicate personnel issues to Plant Manager.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience in print manufacturing environment.

Previous leadership experience.

Lean and/or Six Sigma experience.

Bachelor’s Degree (strongly preferred).
