Survey Project Manager

Lawrenceville, NJ . You will oversee survey projects while directing Field Staff and Office Staff and coordinating with internal engineering teams as well as external clients. Responsibilities
Candidates will primarily work with the survey teams out of either our Valhalla NY or Lawrenceville NJ offices. Oversee the production of survey plans and other deliverables, schedule and set up field crews, update and maintain project tracking software, perform QA/QC reviews, manage equipment and supplies, prepare survey reports, process and review survey data, and make boundary determinations and adjustments to survey control with the guidance and approval of a PLS. Prepare estimates and proposals, participate in business development, and be responsible for billing and accounts receivable for projects under their name. Participate in recruitment and mentor and educate new staff. Collaborate with other departments within WSP and external subconsultants to meet project needs. Help develop and implement company policies, procedures, and standards. Work on a wide variety of survey projects across sectors such as commercial, transportation, environmental, industrial, and energy. Utilize drafting programs, survey data processing programs, project management software, Microsoft Office, and other software daily. Interact with clients by email, phone, or in meetings and represent WSP professionally. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics (Land Surveying related fields) with 7–10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 8+ years, or 10+ years of land surveying experience in lieu of a degree. Proven leadership, team-building, and collaboration skills. Experience in both field and office performing various survey tasks. Experience managing schedules, budgets, staff, and equipment. Experience with drafting and survey data processing programs. Experience with boundary research, compilations, and determinations; processing and adjusting survey control. Strong knowledge of land survey principles, practices, processes, methods, and techniques. Willingness to learn and teach others; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; detail-oriented and organized. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, including leading a team. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies. Preferred Qualifications
Licensed as a PLS (NY and/or NJ a plus); LSIT or CST certifications with goal of becoming a PLS. Knowledge or training in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, Leica Infinity, and Microsoft Office. Experience in both field and office survey work, especially in the New York City area and with public agencies. Experience preparing estimates and proposals, participating in business development, and handling billing and accounts receivable for projects under their name. Existing client base.
