Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and qualified
GSRP Lead Teacher
to join our team. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate, research-based curriculum in alignment with GSRP standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates a deep understanding of early childhood education, child development, and culturally responsive practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement daily lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum.
Conduct child observations and assessments using TS Gold or other GSRP-approved tools.
Maintain child portfolios and documentation to inform instruction and support individualized learning goals.
Foster strong relationships with families through regular communication and home visits.
Collaborate with the associate teacher, early childhood specialist, and other team members to support children’s development.
Ensure compliance with all GSRP requirements and licensing regulations.
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports social-emotional and academic development.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and a ZA/ZS endorsement.
Meets GSRP Lead Teacher qualifications as defined by the Michigan Department of Education.
Experience working with preschool-age children in a classroom setting.
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience with the Creative Curriculum & TS Gold.
CPR and First Aid certification.
