Supply Chain Director
to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations across multiple divisions and product lines. This highly visible, strategic role is responsible for ensuring reliable, cost-effective sourcing, manufacturing support, logistics, and inventory management that enable company growth and operational excellence.
The Supply Chain Director will oversee day-to-day leadership of the supply chain and production planning functions, driving performance, standardization, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in manufacturing supply chains and international sourcing/import operations; excels in shortening lead times, improving on-time delivery, and implementing automation and digital tools; and has demonstrated results working within structured planning environments (e.g., SIOP).
Key Responsibilities Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with company goals and long-term growth plans.
Deliver measurable performance improvements including:
Reducing product lead times
Partnering cross-functionally to achieve 95% on-time delivery
Identifying and executing year-over-year material cost reduction initiatives
Supporting automation programs and a continuous improvement of culture
Collaborate closely with Operations, Production, Finance, and Sales to align purchasing, production readiness, and customer fulfillment.
Procurement & Supplier Management
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for domestic and international suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and supply reliability.
Negotiate supplier contracts and long-term agreements to drive savings and secure availability.
Establish supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost, innovation) and ensure accountability through structured reviews.
Develop supply-risk mitigation plans and ensure compliance with sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
Logistics & Import/Export Management
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics for U.S. and imported products, ensuring timely and cost-efficient movement of goods.
Manage 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for optimal service and trade compliance.
Maintain compliance with U.S. trade regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements.
Lead initiatives to improve freight utilization, packaging efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
Inventory & Demand Planning
Strengthen forecasting and inventory planning to balance service levels and working-capital objectives.
Implement and enhance demand‑planning tools to improve accuracy and transparency.
Coordinate with Production and Sales to anticipate customer needs and minimize shortages or excess stock.
Support scrap-reduction and warehouse accuracy initiatives, including driving toward 50% scrap reduction goals.
Process Improvement & Automation
Leverage ERP tools (Epicor) and analytics to monitor KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and guide decisions.
Advance automation and digital enablement across supply chain functions to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Foster a lean, continuous‑improvement culture and standardize best practices across the organization.
Compliance, Risk & Safety
Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, trade, and compliance requirements.
Strengthen risk management through structured governance, supplier diversification, and audit readiness.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (Master’s)
10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, manufacturing planning, or logistics; minimum 5 years in senior leadership
Proven success managing combined domestic and international supply chains
Strong ERP and analytics experience; Epicor experience strongly
Demonstrated achievements in supplier negotiation, cost reduction, and lead‑time optimization
Knowledge of import/export compliance, tariffs, and U.S. trade regulations
Prior experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment required
