As a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll be a front-line manager delivering an outstanding client experience and driving office growth, while expanding your knowledge to serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates. A Typical Day
As you inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, you’ll build client relationships that grow stronger over time. Responsibilities
Provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. Serve as the front-line manager to develop tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives. Advance knowledge and serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates. Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with quality standards, priorities, and goals. Train and coach associates to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions. Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates. Create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management. Prepare tax returns, as required. Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns. Partner with the District General Manager to develop and implement office-level growth plans, including local partnerships and community involvement. Assist District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions. Serve as point of contact for escalated client service concerns. Ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts are resolved. Qualifications and Expertise
Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people. 2+ years as a Tax Professional (if preparing tax returns). Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns). Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements. Proficient with MS Office; able to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexible in work schedule and assignments based on business needs. High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
