Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructures. Install, terminate, and test Cat6, Fiber Optic Cables (SM & MM) as designed and per scope of work. Install IP Cameras (aiming and focusing) and run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings up to 2,000,000 sq ft, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work. Dress cable pathways and MDFs; ensure cables are neatly tied and bundled per safety regulations. Install cable support structures (j-hooks, cable racks, inner-duct); erect network devices (APs, cameras) per scope of work. Repair cable poles and towers; conduct tests to ensure all installed cable systems and devices are operational. Troubleshoot cable networks to ensure proper functioning and compliance with codes, regulations, and insurance requirements. Adhere to required project safety requirements and provide regular updates to Project Management on status and objectives. Lead crews of 6-15 technicians with daily instruction and training as needed. Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician in industrial/commercial spaces (1 million - 5 million sq ft). 5-7+ years of experience as a Lead/Foreman in industrial/manufacturing environments. Data cabling experience with CAT6, fiber optic, 24v, and 70v paging systems. Knowledge/experience with CCTV, Fire, Security, and Alarm Systems a plus. Experience installing Audio/Visual, Point-of-Sale systems, TV/monitor, or media players a plus. Industry certifications (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA) a plus; list certifications if any. Fiber optic training/certifications desired (AT&T, BICSI, CISCO, Corning, CNET, ETA, FOA, VERIZON). Willingness for extensive nationwide travel; project duration typically 1-6 months with movement to next location. Flexible for on-call, day, night, or weekend shifts as required. Experience reading blueprints/site maps; conduit installation is a plus; knowledge of multi-mode/single-mode fiber terminations. Knowledge of Redlines and As-Builts; ability to work in cramped spaces; able to operate BOOM or scissor lifts and work at heights up to 65+ feet. Basic telecommunication tools, PPE, reliable transportation; valid driver's license with clean record (no recent DUI/DWI). OSHA 10/30 certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment. Knowledge of working in industrial environments; union/non-union; high safety vigilance. Strong customer relations and communication skills; proficient with smartphones, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office. About Wachter
