This is a
fully on-site role , perfect for someone who enjoys collaborating closely with providers, staff, and patients in a fast-paced specialty area.
What Youll Do:
Process internal, outgoing, and incoming referrals accurately and efficiently.
Manage referral work queues to ensure every referral is complete and sent to the correct department.
Schedule patients and attach referrals to appointments.
Obtain and verify authorizations prior to visits and procedures.
Maintain strong communication with Vascular Surgery providers, staff, and patients.
Process a high volume of referrals daily while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or GED required; post-secondary training or college preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service and scheduling required.
Epic experience:
6+ months preferred.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; excellent communication and teamwork.
Other:
Passion for supporting patients and improving their care experience.

Facilitates referrals by processing internal, outgoing, and incoming referral entries. The Referral Coordinator will be responsible for working assigned incoming and outgoing referral work queues, schedule patients, attach referral to patient appointments, obtain authorizations, proactively look into assigned department schedule and verify all authorizations have been done. Will also be responsible for maintaining communication/relationship with the assigned practice. Processes more than 50 referrals per day for completeness, and disseminating the referral appropriately to the correct work queues is the start of the scheduling process.
Requirements Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Post high school training or college preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service and scheduling. 6 months of Epic experience preferred.

This job requires working knowledge of referrals and InBasket to communicate with offices and physicians about referrals. Proficiency in Epic scheduling and ability to attach referrals to appointments is required. The role involves multi-tasking, flexibility, and cross-training across service lines. Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills are essential. Knowledge of medical terminology, telephone etiquette, data entry, Microsoft Office, insurance, and authorization processes is preferred. Bilingual ability is helpful.
