Substation Senior Civil/Structural Engineer at Leidos. Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects, including steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, site design and foundations, as part of bid/construction package development. Lead design reviews on a regular basis and mentor junior staff members. Take a lead engineer role on client projects, overseeing work and ensuring quality control on design packages. Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and travel for client meetings and industry events as needed. Engage in front-facing client activities (e.g., lunch-and-learns, kick-off meetings) if preferred and ensure compliance with quality control, safety practices, project scope, schedule and budget. Collaborate within a design team of engineers, designers and drafting technicians; participate in development of project deliverables and ensure alignment with client requirements. Qualifications
Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil/Structural Engineering – Required Masters of Science (MS) degree in Civil/Structural Engineering – Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) licensure – Required Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and MATHCAD Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10 and LPILE Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation Strong analytical and technical writing skills Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff Willingness to travel up to 25% Work Location
Ideally Walled Lake, MI (hybrid) or Chicago, IL (hybrid); all qualified candidates located in the U.S. will be considered for 100% remote work. Pay Range
Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
