Assemble all instrument trays, sets, kits, and packs according to prescribed procedures, using content lists or set recipes as guides. Wrap packages and handle them according to standard procedures. Scan trays/sets individually. Inventory each tray/set carefully, validate containers/wrapped items, and ensure all components are properly prepared. Mark items with identifying data and store in designated areas. Consult with supervisors when parts are missing or equipment is deficient. Disassemble and clean equipment such as suction machines, IV poles, monitors, and pumps using approved disinfectants, detergents, and cleaners. Reassemble and test equipment for proper functioning. Set inoperable equipment aside for repair. Dispense products requested for sterile and non-sterile supplies, prioritizing emergency requests, and document all transactions. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow routine cleaning schedules for equipment and surfaces. Apply aseptic techniques daily. Replenish stock levels, assist with requisitions, and perform biological and chemical monitoring, recording results appropriately. Process contaminated instruments and equipment in the decontamination area. Check operation of washers, sterilizers, and related equipment, reporting malfunctions. Prioritize tray turnover and process loaner trays according to procedures. Clean delicate instruments manually and perform leak and water tests on endoscopes, recording results daily. Sterilize instruments and supplies using autoclaves and other sterilizers, following manufacturer instructions. Properly load sterilizers, set controls, and document cycles. Inspect sterilized items for integrity before distribution. Maintain sterilizer equipment and perform routine cleaning. Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. At least 6 months of related experience or completion of a central service technician course. Must prepare for Sterile Processing certification within 1 year of hire and complete certification within 2 years. This position offers a hiring range of $17.50 - $28.73 per hour.
