Nashua, NH (on-site work only; no roadside or emergency calls) Overview Fleet Services By Cox Automotive is currently searching for an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician II who will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. All work is performed at the customer\'s site. Primary Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Diagnose and perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment including electrical systems, brakes, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and A/C systems. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Serve as the primary point of contact between the customer and Fleet Services. Maintain effective communication with all parties to ensure customer needs are understood and work is completed in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation. Document work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application; accurately complete DOT forms. Maintain company-issued service truck and conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections. Perform other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience. Alternatively, a different combination such as any level degree/certification in a related discipline, or 5 years’ related experience. Proven ability to accurately perform services described in Primary Responsibilities above. Must be at least 21 years old. Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical; if four months or less remain, a DOT physical is required.
