Staff Attorney – Housing Law (Hybrid, Bronx, NY)
Salary:
$94,500 – $118,000 (DOE) Schedule:
Hybrid; minimum one day on-site; all court appearances in person A respected Bronx-based nonprofit organization is seeking a
Staff Attorney
to provide legal representation and advocacy to low-income tenants facing eviction. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to housing justice and experience with litigation or landlord-tenant law. Key Responsibilities: Represent tenants in non-payment and holdover proceedings in Bronx County Court. Handle litigation before administrative agencies as needed. Counsel clients to maintain housing stability and access benefits. Draft legal documents including motions and orders to show cause. Conduct community outreach, workshops, and trainings. Qualifications: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; trial or landlord-tenant experience preferred. Familiarity with NYC housing law and public benefits. Strong writing, advocacy, and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a full caseload. Fluency in Spanish preferred.
