Hourly pay: $20.00 - $27.00 based on experience.
Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
Experience operating heavy equipment (skid steer, front end loader, etc.) is preferred but not a requirement for this position.
Location Information
Watco moves any commodity, and at this site, we handle primarily bulk and break‑bulk products such as coal, pet‑coke, and cement as well as liquid chemicals.
Description
- Responsible for the safe operation of all equipment.
- Know how to respond in case of emergency.
- Will be trained on General Procedures, heavy‑equipment functions, the employee demonstration checklist, and all required testing.
- Handle material and work rotational shifts, overtime as required, to maintain customer‑first principles.
- Communicate via 2‑way radio with supervisors, team members, and customers.
- Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
- Follow written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Read, write and communicate in English and understand basic math.
- Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment.
- Have a working knowledge of Watco safety and operating principles.
- Work independently or as part of a team and interact appropriately with others.
- Receive oral or written instructions from supervisors indicating which piles are to be loaded in/out of and need to be maintained.
- Follow written dual‑verification procedures on all material movements.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Pass training and required testing.
- Be available for rotating shifts and work in all types of weather.
- Other duties as assigned.

- PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, splash goggles, face shield, reflective clothing, gloves, steel‑toed metatarsal boots.
- Other PPE as required.
- Front end loaders, excavator / material handlers, skid steers, dozers, water truck.
