Responsibilities
Coordinates and prioritizes ordered exams.
Collaborates and coordinates with medical staff including, but not limited to, physicians, APC's, medical fellows and residents, and other medical staff.
Collects medical information and patient histories.
Performs vascular ultrasound exams in accordance with the department and overseeing accredited body's outlined protocols and procedures.
Appropriately documents exams and preliminary impressions.
Cleans and maintains equipment, supplies, and work area.
May be assigned shared mobile outreach duties in support of Vascular Surgery clinics at various outreach locations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
Ability to provide care to the population served.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development.
Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status.
Ability to provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
Demonstrated knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology.
Demonstrated effective communication and human relation skills.
Qualifications
Upper and lower Extremity Venous Duplex
Carotid Duplex
Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) testing
If incumbent holds ARDMS(RDMS) as a means to qualify for the role, the incumbent must obtain an appropriate vascular testing credential within two (2) years of entry into the position.
Licenses Required
Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Current certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
Current certification as a Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT(VS)) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an Abdomen specialty (RDMS-AB) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care.
