Hardware Engineer

We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to join our engineering team and be responsible for the testing and debugging of our client's environment setup, assist to identify the related hardware engineering issue, and communicate with HQ team and vendors to make sure the product can be delivered on time. The role is based on site in La Vergne, Tennessee for a global fortune 500 technology manufacturing & design company.
This role focuses on the design, development, and testing of embedded hardware systems, with a strong emphasis on PCB design, communication protocols, and processor/memory architecture. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with low‑level hardware interfaces and a passion for building robust, scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop high-performance PCBs for embedded systems and consumer electronics
Implement and debug inter-process communication protocols including SPI, UART, and I2C
Integrate and validate USB interfaces for data transfer and peripheral connectivity
Collaborate with firmware and software teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration
Evaluate and select RISC-based processors and memory architectures for optimal performance
Conduct signal integrity analysis, power distribution design, and thermal management
Perform schematic capture, layout review, and DFM/DFT analysis
Support prototyping, bring‑up, and testing of hardware platforms
Document design specifications, test procedures, and validation reports
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in hardware design and embedded systems
Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD)
Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design
Experience with IPC protocols (SPI, UART, I2C) and USB standards
Familiarity with RISC architectures (e.g., ARM, RISC‑V), CPU subsystems, and memory hierarchies
Ability to read datasheets, schematics, and debug hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
Experience with high-speed design and signal integrity simulation
Knowledge of EMC/EMI compliance and regulatory standards
Exposure to FPGA design and HDL (VHDL/Verilog)
