Hospital Unit Service Coordinator, Part Time Job Summary The Unit Service Coordinator (USC), under the direction of the Patient Care Unit Manager, Nursing Supervisor, or Charge Nurse, serves as the primary communication hub within the Pediatric Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The USC performs administrative functions directed toward positive patient care outcomes and manages a 12‑hour evening/night shift to support patient care teams.

Required Qualifications

Experience in a health care setting

Knowledge of medical terminology

Previous database/data entry experience

Demonstrated customer service skills/experience

Excellent interpersonal/communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse professional and patient population

Ability to work in a busy, team‑oriented environment

Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing

Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks

Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job description

Willingness to be taught/learn new skills

Basic computer skills

The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

Unit Clerk experience

Ability to use office equipment
