Description Analysts support the development of quality deliverables that result in a high degree of project leader and client satisfaction. They provide logistical support and conduct research and analysis (e.g., client interviews and analysis). Analysts hold primary responsibility for knowledge capture and assist in the design and facilitation of external and internal meetings. They are expected to develop and maintain general institutional knowledge of their clients and their clients' culture, organization, and issues. Analysts support business development efforts by assisting with proposal development. The primary focus of an Analyst is to gain a fundamental and foundational understanding of what it means to be a consultant at a services firm, and particularly at The Clearing, including learning the methodologies, techniques, and tools that The Clearing uses.
What You'll Do
Support the development of high-quality client-facing deliverables
Support the design, coordination, and logistics of external and internal meetings
Own knowledge capture responsibility during internal and external client meetings; occasionally co‑facilitate internal and external client meetings
Support and/or lead research, data gathering, and analysis to inform the development of client recommendations and solutions; clearly synthesize and present results
Contribute to proposal development efforts
Showcase critical thinking skills to evaluate needs, make initial recommendations, and partner with team members to refine thinking and approaches to client challenges
Gain a fundamental understanding of change management consulting and The Clearing's methods, techniques, and tools
Requirements
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (or have had one within the past two years)
Bachelor's degree
1+ year of professional work experience, preferably in a professional services or client‑facing environment
Willingness and ability to travel to client sites in the surrounding DC and Baltimore metro areas; occasional travel outside of these regions could be expected (5%)
Critical thinking/problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, organization and time‑management skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills
Flexible and adaptable mindset to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced, high‑stakes client environments
Desired skills, experiences, and certifications: change management, strategic planning, strategic communication, program management, and/or organizational design experience; PMP and/or Change Management certification (ex. Prosci)
Compensation The projected annual salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000. Actual compensation and starting salaries are determined based on various factors, including the education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, and clearance level of the candidate and internal equity. Once at The Clearing, movement through pay bands is based on performance. Base‑annual salary is just one component of The Clearing's total compensation philosophy and approach. Physical and Mental Requirements While performing duties of this job, an employee may be required to perform any, or all of the following: attend meetings in and out of the office, travel (sometimes extensively); occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally walking, climbing stairs, and standing occur in this role. Additionally, this job requires certain mental demands, including the ability to use judgment, withstand moderate amounts of stress, and maintain attention to detail.
