Position Details The Opportunity As the
Assistant Director , you will be part of the leadership team for the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences' (CAHNRS) Human Development at the Washington State University (WSU) Children's Center. You will be responsible for managing the daily administrative operations of the center. In collaboration with the Director of WSU Children's Center, you will assist in the overall management of the Pullman campus Children's Center. You will represent the Center on the Director's behalf, helping to build relationships between parents, center faculty and staff, and college and university departments. You will provide administrative oversight in the Director's absence, supervise and train staff, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, oversee facility safety, and perform other duties as assigned.

position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement. This is a temporary position that is renewed on an annual basis. Appointment renewal is dependent on continued funding and project needs.
Monthly Salary $5,935 - $6,500 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least one (1) year of managerial experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment. Positions may require applicable licensure and/or certification.
Forty seven (47) credit hours of specialized college-level course work in early childhood education that encompasses child development and children's learning from birth through kindergarten or Washington Early Childhood Education (ECE) State Certificate.
Demonstrated skills in budgeting, programming, licensing, marketing, public relations, staffing, and evaluating.
Satisfactory background check through the Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) at time of hire.
Proof of measles (MMR) vaccination, or other acceptable documentation as established by the Washington Department of Health and Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 43.216.690.
Negative tuberculosis (TB) test within previous 12 months, in accordance with Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 110-300-0105.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Early Childhood Program Administration.
Meet the qualifications outlined in WAC 110-300-0100 such as being at least 18 years of age; having knowledge of child development; having written proof of education; having at least two years experience teaching children the same age level as the center serves.
Experience with university child care setting, national accreditation, and DCYF licensing.
Bloodborne Pathogen Training. Current Pediatric first aid/CPR and Infant/Child CPR.
