Senior Estimator - Bridge & Highway Construction
MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure is hiring a Senior Estimator to assist in the growth of the Nashville, TN infrastructure market.
Location:
Remote/hybrid within the state of Tennessee.

Responsibilities
Understand bid items, basis of estimate, identify errors in plans and specifications, and propose solutions.
Interpret plans, specifications, RFPs, RFIs, addenda, and technical special provisions.
Create green-sheet estimates, activity breakdown, construction schedules, and risk matrices.
Develop job budgets for awarded contracts.
Define bid strategy, cost‑savings initiatives, and manage budget controls.
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs within deadlines.
Independently estimate entire projects.
Review estimating reports: equipment hours, labor productivity rates, key indicators, equipment balance analysis.
Stay current with TNDOT Standards and Specifications.
Lead bid submittal reviews with company executives.
Request clarifications from owners or engineers of record.
Coordinate supplier and subcontractor quotations for various scopes.
Analyze supplier and subcontractor pricing.
Build strong supplier and subcontractor relationships.
Apply unit cost analysis principles.
Participate in pre‑bid meetings and bid submittals.
Track commodity trade price changes.
Explore construction technologies and techniques.
Maintain continuing education; attend engineering conventions and forums.
Communicate with field personnel to adjust unit costs as necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, preferably roadway/highway/bridge.
Strong preference for candidates located in Nashville, Tennessee.
B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge in bridge and roadway construction.
Familiarity with Nashville soil, foundations, concrete structures, underground utilities, earthwork, signaling, lighting, ITS, and safety standards.

Teaching and mentoring skills.
Software Skills
30‑Hour OSHA training.
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Scheduling software (P6 Primavera).
Heavy Bid (HCSS).
Vista Accounting software.
Bluebeam (REVU).
AutoCAD Civil 3D.
MicroStation.
AGTEK.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$60,000 – $90,000 annually (level varies by experience).
