Job Description
Pay Range: $51.40hr - $56.40hr
Engineering Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting hardware qualifications for new processes, process changes, and new equipment implementation.
This role involves applying knowledge of Hot Gas Path (HGP) design and manufacturing to improve part functionality, reduce cost, and enhance overall value.
The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements, support design producibility, and implement lean manufacturing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support hardware qualifications for new processes, process changes, and new equipment.
Apply knowledge of HGP design and manufacturing to enhance part functionality, reduce cost, and add value.
Participate in Supply Chain Kaizens and Lean Action Workouts.
Support design for producibility, lean flow, and concurrent engineering activities.
Engage proactively in quality initiatives for defect reduction and process improvement.
Support qualification guidelines, specifications, and address top manufacturing issues.
Assist in technology development and qualification of special processes such as castings, coatings, and hole drilling.
Foster teamwork, a positive work environment, and drive a sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
Requirements Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Relevant mechanical engineering experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery, specifically hot gas path components.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings.
Previous experience in non-conformance dispositioning using mechanical engineering assessments.
Familiarity with Ansys, NX, and other analytical tools.
Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional global organization.
Self-motivated, humble, open-minded, and committed to continuous learning.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Gas turbine engineering experience.
Manufacturing experience.
Proficiency in lean manufacturing methods and statistical process control.
Background in HGP components, including NX and GD&T.
Experience with advanced manufacturing processes.
Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Customer-focused mindset with strong quality orientation.
